Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using LoveCertain, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them. They're written to be understood, not to bury things. If anything is unclear, contact us before joining.

Eligibility

To use LoveCertain, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be a genuine individual seeking a romantic relationship — not a business, bot, or agent acting on someone else's behalf
• Not have been previously banned from LoveCertain for a Terms of Service violation
• Be legally permitted to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction

By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and genuine.

Your account

Accuracy

You must use your real name, real photos of yourself, and accurate information throughout your profile. Profiles that misrepresent age, appearance, or intentions will be removed. We do not allow couples profiles, business profiles, or profiles created on behalf of another person.

One account per person

Each person may hold one LoveCertain account. Creating multiple accounts — whether to bypass a ban, restart the 90-day window, or any other reason — is a violation of these terms.

Account security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorised access caused by your failure to keep credentials secure.

The service

LoveCertain provides a compatibility-based matching service using four dimensions: values (40%), life stage (25%), attachment style (20%), and communication style (15%). We only show you matches scoring 70% or above on this scale.

We facilitate introductions and provide a messaging platform for matched members. We do not guarantee that you will find a relationship — but we guarantee you'll get your money back if you don't.

Matching algorithm

Our matching algorithm is described at /how-it-works. We reserve the right to update the algorithm to improve match quality. Changes to matching methodology do not trigger refund eligibility on their own.

Platform availability

We aim to provide continuous availability but do not guarantee uptime. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance. Significant unplanned downtime (exceeding 72 consecutive hours) will be taken into account when assessing refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis.

Payment and refund

Pricing

LoveCertain charges a one-time fee of £49. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no additional charges for using the core platform. The £49 gives you full access to matching, messaging, and the platform for the duration of your membership.

Payment processing

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. By completing payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to ours.

The 90-day refund guarantee

If you have not entered a confirmed relationship within 90 days of joining, you are entitled to a full refund of your £49. The refund process is described in full in our Refund Policy. To summarise:

• You must request the refund before your 90-day window expires
• Your account must not have been suspended for a Terms of Service violation
• The refund will be processed within 2 business days and should appear within 5–10 business days

The £99 success bonus

When you and your match both confirm a relationship through the platform within the 90-day window, we pay each of you £99 via bank transfer. The refund and the success bonus are mutually exclusive — you either claim a refund or a bonus, not both.

No refund after policy violation

Accounts suspended or banned for violations of our acceptable use policy are not eligible for refunds, regardless of where they are in the 90-day window.

Acceptable use

LoveCertain is a genuine dating platform for adults seeking romantic relationships. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in account suspension or permanent ban:

• Sending unsolicited sexual content or explicit messages without invitation
• Harassment, threats, or abusive behaviour toward other members
• Impersonation of another person, living or deceased
• Using the platform for commercial purposes — escorting, solicitation, advertising
• Creating fake profiles or using photos of someone other than yourself
• Attempting to circumvent the platform to share contact details before a match is established
• Any automated access to the platform (bots, scrapers, crawlers)
• Attempting to identify or contact members outside the platform without their consent
• Sharing content that is illegal, defamatory, or harmful

If you experience behaviour from another member that violates these terms, please report it immediately via the in-app reporting tool or our contact page. We take safety seriously and act quickly on genuine reports.

Your content

You retain ownership of any content you upload to LoveCertain — photos, bio text, messages. By uploading content, you grant LoveCertain a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and transmit that content to provide the service (i.e. to show your profile to your matches and deliver your messages).

We do not use your photos or personal content to train AI models, sell to third parties, or use for any commercial purpose other than operating the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload doesn't infringe third-party rights. Do not upload photos of other people without their consent.

Termination

By you

You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and takes effect within 30 days. If you are within your 90-day guarantee window and haven't claimed a refund, please submit the refund request before deleting your account.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Where possible, we will notify you of the reason. Serious safety violations (e.g. harassment, threats) may result in immediate termination without notice.

We reserve the right to discontinue the LoveCertain service in its entirety. In that event, all active members within their 90-day guarantee window would receive full refunds regardless of usage.

Limitation of liability

LoveCertain provides a matching and communication platform. We cannot guarantee that any match will result in a relationship, that any member is who they claim to be, or that your experience on the platform will be positive. We do guarantee a full refund if a relationship doesn't result within 90 days — that is our commitment and the extent of our financial liability.

We are not liable for the behaviour of other members. If another member causes you harm, we will cooperate with appropriate authorities. We provide reporting tools and act promptly on reports, but we cannot supervise every interaction.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except where consumer protection law in your country provides you with a more favourable jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer in the UK, you have statutory rights that are not affected by these terms. Nothing in this agreement is intended to limit those rights.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. If you continue to use LoveCertain after the updated terms take effect, you accept the new terms.

If you don't agree with updated terms, you can delete your account and, if eligible, claim a refund. We won't hold you to updated terms you haven't accepted.
